Sketching at Meadowbrook Pond Park

Last Sunday the Northend Sketchers (me, Tina, and Nicole) went to nearby Meadowbrook Pond Park, a small quiet spot that has some interesting embellishments that are fun to sketch.  Or to try to sketch!

This odd structure, for example, covers a small dock from which you can view the pond, and it has a lot of details and angles.

Here are Tina (closest, with her dog Duke and Ginger) and Nicole (way back there by that small roofed shelter) drawing the dock.

Here is my attempt -- rather loose and not that accurate.

We moved to a spot at the other end of the dock structure, where we all drew different views.

We were entertained by a Great Blue Heron.

Truman was not entertained at all.

It's hard to see in this photo, but there's a sculpture way in the back -- a large orange disk representing the sun -- it was the focus of my second drawing.

A very pleasant outing, and Truman got to go for a short walk around the park, which I think he may actually have enjoyed!
