Osprey Update

It was hot last week, in the low- to mid-80s, and the Osprey chicks did not always seem happy about being on a totally non-shaded nest.

Their beaks were open much of the time, with their little tongues hanging out.

The female Osprey was up on the perch, keeping an eye on the skies after chasing off an eagle.

Then she returned to the nest to provide what little shade she could.

The chicks hunkered down in her shadow.

All three chicks are still present and accounted for.  I'll try to check up on them again later this week.

  1. Poor little things. They sure grow fast! Hope the weather cools down a bit for them.
